Your proposal is an opportunity to put your best foot forward. We’re excited to understand your intentions, creative approach, and overall goals with your project.
Here are a few tips to help you write a strong proposal:
Start with a clear idea.
What is your project about? Describe it in a few sentences. You don’t need to have all the details figured out, but help us see what you’re trying to explore, build, question, or express.
Focus on what, why, and how.
• What are you proposing to do?
• Why is this important now?
• How do you imagine it will come together?
Connect it to the theme
This year’s theme is Extension of Nature. We’re looking for proposals that respond to the climate crisis through design, performance, systems, materials, narratives, tech, and more.
Ask yourself:
• How does your work engage with the environment or climate?
• Does it offer a response, a question, a critique, or a reimagining?
Describe your process
Tell us how you plan to approach your work. Will you research, collaborate, prototype, perform, document? Let us know what methods, tools, or timelines you envision. Tell us about how the idea might come to life. This includes your budget breakdown and project timeline, which should demonstrate that your project is feasible.
Tell us about yourself
We value all kinds of creative practices from emerging voices to experienced professionals. Briefly introduce yourself and your practice. You can share what guides your work, what inspires you, or what communities you’re part of.
